The TFCA Safety Committee is composed of members of the Tennessee Fire Chief's Association.
Safety Committee Mission Statement: To Provide and Improve SAFETY through Vision, Leadership and Service. (VLS) VLS = SAFETY
Our Goal is to instill in all personnel that safety is everyone's responsibility and it is our intent that safety will be incorporated into our Tennessee Communities, Schools, Businesses and Families.
Meetings: The Safety, Health & Wellness Committee will normally be held in conjunction with the TFCA quarterly conferences.

Up to 20 minutes a day, 3 days per week, 52 hours per year can be credited towards company training.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that adults get at least two and a half hours of moderate-intensity cardio exercise eash week, plus muscle-strengthing exercises on at least two days. Check with your local gyms and see if they provide a discount to First Responders.
*** To modivate your department members, try sending out weekly emails with exercise tips, easy workout ideas, and moticational messages and quotes. Organize a weekly group fitness activity at the station, such as jump rope or weight training. Set up a bulletin board with exercise examples in the station.
